A child transforms a desolate vacant lot into her playground, not for idle play, but for a contest with herself—serious, urgent, and mystical. Her actions bring her to uncanny intersections with a musician, whose ferocious efforts on the glockenspiel are strangely entangled with her own games. (The score is a movement from the double-Grammy-nominated album Seven Pillars.

In Hawaii, a group of Native Hawaiians and conservationists struggles politically to protect the exotic fish being looted from the reefs. Turtles, whales, and dolphins are all protected, but not the fish. Now many verges on extinction. 28 million fish are in the aquarium trade pipeline at any given time. They undergo bladder piercing, fin cutting and starvation for shipment and reach the mainland dead or dying. They would have lived up to forty years on a reef. Fish species are in crisis worldwide and many are caught with cyanide and dynamite.

“"Chameleon" is a transformative blend of two spirits becoming one. Representing the continuous re-inventing of relationship, it evokes and awakens both feelings of submissiveness & sensuality. Originally created as an ensemble dance for stage work, today, Choreographer and Artistic Director of Jazz Spectrum Dance Company, Janell Burgess has re-invented "Chameleon" into a beautiful pas de deux for film. Ms. Burgess worked closely with composer Cisco Dimas to create new & original music specifically for this dance for film.”
